WHO AM I?

“Turra investigates the myriad possibilities of the electric axe […] (he) unveils a panoply of techniques:  sumptuous swells, backward burbles, crystalline harmonics, tightly controlled distorstion, sudden feedback bursts, hanging clouds and raw fret board shredding all fly by in a parade of virtuosity.”

Daniel Spicer / SONGLINES

“In recent years, Turra has revealed himself as a guitarist with a visceral passion, a perfect synthesis of heart and mind. With intense eloquence, power, technique, and pathos, he knows how to escape the obvious traps of “classics”—be they rock, blues, jazz, or imported from other cultures—while always remaining capable of guaranteeing a fiery impact on the listener, the fruit of music brought to the audience with immediacy and naturalness.”

Sandro Cerini / MUSICA JAZZ

"If you go to listen carefully you will realize some extraordinary occasion [...] I invite you to evaluate the beauty of Alberto's solos, even in recent episodes )[...] these show that these are moments that have an implicit substrate of very high knowledge."

Ettore Garzia / PERCORSI MUSICALI

“Turra once again confirms his status as a responsible, unpredictable, and creative artist, always ready to challenge himself and capable of always pushing the boundaries of his art a little further than he himself.”

Piercarlo Poggio / BLOWUP

ALBERTO N. A. TURRA, Italian guitarist, composer, and improviser, alternates his work as guitar player with the composing one (for movies, theater and contemporary dance) together with being bandleader.
